FEVR Trail Ribbon Cutting

Join us for the grand opening of the Hooper to Highway 77 section of the FEVR Trail.  In the future this trail will connect Fremont to Hooper.  Grab your bike and be among the first to ride the trail on Friday, June 12.  We will conduct the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 9:30.  Light refreshments will be provided. 
 

Ribbon Cutting – Fremont Elkhorn Valley Rail-to-Trail (Phase 1)

HOOPER, NE — June 2, 2026 — Community members, local leaders, and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the first completed segment of the Fremont Elkhorn Valley Rail-to-Trail project on June 12 at 9:00 a.m. at the former Hooper Rail Depot.

This milestone marks the completion of approximately 3 miles of trail from the Hooper Rail Depot to Highway 77, transforming the historic railway corridor into a scenic multi-use path connecting communities and creating new opportunities for recreation and tourism.

"We are incredibly excited to celebrate the completion of this first phase," said Stan Darling, President of the FEVR Rail-to-Trail Foundation. "This project represents years of planning, strong partnerships, and community support. We look forward to welcoming biking and outdoor enthusiasts to Dodge County and invite everyone to be a Link in the Chain as we begin fundraising for Phases 3 and 4 to fully connect our communities."
