Heavy Equipment Mechanic

This position is for an experienced heavy equipment mechanic with knowledge of heavy equipment repairs, diesel engines, electrical motors, chassis, and trailer repair.

Schedule:

M-F, 6:30am - 4:00pm, with overtime as needed.

Key Job Duties:

• Perform maintenance on heavy lift equipment, terminal trucks, containers, and chassis
• Execute work instructions and communicate progress over the radio or on a tablet
• Assess, document, and fix equipment in the following categories
• Readily dispatch to operationally critical damaged equipment in the yard with the goal of quickly bringing the machine back to safe working condition
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership

This job will have exposure to agricultural products such as wheat and soy.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment repairs, diesel engines, electrical motors, chassis and trailer repair, parts inventory, and work orders
• Organizational skills
• Effective communication
• Time management
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, terminal operating systems, SharePoint, or Google Drive
• Ability to frequently lift over 50 lbs
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to push and pull up to 80 pounds occasionally
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders
