Develops and maintains departmental and organizational contracts and grants to obtain funding for organizational services.
 
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
 
Performs the writing activities for designated grant programs and obtains funding to ensure that goals or objectives of programs are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
	- 
	Studies and understands the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.
- 
	Develops program proposals and completes applications as indicated in the funding opportunity instructions.
- 
	Researches funding opportunities from government and non-government agencies to identify sources of funding.
- 
	Completes and submits comprehensive proposal package prior to deadline.
- 
	Prepares written questions to clarify funding opportunity instructions and submits consolidated question documents to funding opportunity author or management.
- 
	Reviews proposal package submissions with team members as a part of continuous quality improvement efforts
- 
	Maintains master files on submitted proposals.
- 
	Maintains confidentiality of all strategic service delivery initiatives and completed proposals.
- 
	Maintains current knowledge of national child and family-serving policies, best practices and trends to consult to affiliate site staff on appropriate program growth opportunities as aligned with the mission and strategic goals.
- 
	Organizes and facilitates proposal development meetings between affiliate site staff, program staff, finance staff, and contract staff.
- 
	Works and collaborates on an ongoing basis with other team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
	- 
	Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 
	Minimum of three years of writing experience; including 1 to 2 years of professional writing experience required.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
	- 
	Federal, state, and local grant proposals experience preferred.
- 
	Healthcare grant writing experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
	- 
	Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks.  Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
