Behavioral Health Therapist

Good Neighbor Community Health Center is looking for a dedicated behavioral health professional to join the team in Fremont to help serve our communities!

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Therapist provides clinical services—both in person and via telehealth—to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and behavioral challenges.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide behavioral health support to improve overall health and disease management.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and telehealth evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide psychotherapy, group, and family therapy (as applicable).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish and track treatment goals.
• Document all assessments, therapy notes, consultations, and referrals in accordance with state, federal, and clinic standards.
• Maintain records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Certification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a social service field with current CADC or related certification; OR
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Counseling, or related mental health field, with coursework/experience in substance use disorder treatment.
• Current Nebraska license in good standing: LMHP, PLMHP, LIMHP, LCSW, PLCSW, MSW.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, symptoms, and treatment practices.
• Clinical decision-making skills to ensure client care and safety.
• Excellent written, verbal, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of progressive counseling experience.
• Bilingual fluency highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Extended sitting with occasional bending, lifting (up to 35 lbs), stooping, and stretching.
• Normal hearing, vision, and manual dexterity for office/clinical equipment.
