Good Neighbor Community Health Center is a patient-centered Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to providing equitable, high-quality care to medically underserved communities. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Physician to join our team in delivering comprehensive, culturally competent primary care to individuals and families across the lifespan.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is open at either of our sites in Fremont, NE or Columbus, NE!

The Physician is responsible for the delivery of quality medical care to patients of Good Neighbor Community Health Center and functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team within the scope of his or her medical practice.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides direct patient care to clinic patients. Examines, diagnoses, and prescribes appropriate treatment plans for patients. Follows appropriate standards of care for each patient. Actively works to develop a strong, cohesive, and supportive clinical team.
  • Provides continuity of care to patients and serves in rotation for after-hour care coverage as appropriate.
  • Ensures that patient and family are educated about diagnosis and the plan of care.
  • Accepts responsibility for remaining current with medical and health care trends, and information that impacts the medical practice.
  • Assumes responsibility/accountability for delegating, directing, and supervising patient care activities. Trains, mentors, and supervises students and clinical support staff engaged in activities and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Provides professional perspective and direction in the development of the community health care plan.
  • Assists in maintaining an efficient, safe, secure, orderly, and aseptic environment of care for all patients and employees.

EDUCATION - Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine is required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure/Certifications

  • Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license and provide proof of personal driver’s insurance and the ability to utilize own transportation for work purposes.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Nebraska is required.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license is required.
  • Must meet all credentialing requirements as required by Medicaid, Medicare, and insurances.
  • Must have current certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with an interpreter or language service line if the need arises is required.
  • Preferred: Bi-lingual and bi-cultural awareness of the needs of our uninsured clients, otherwise, willingness to be trained in Cultural Competence.
  • Knowledge and experience in the electronic medical records arena.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Time management.
  • Ability to work in a team-based setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clinical and administrative staff and peers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some lifting involved, up to 35 pounds.
